The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Lawyer Samuel Abdulai Jinapor has revealed that the government will commission an “independent audit” into claims of “de-gazzetted acreage of land of in the Achimota Forest in Accra should that become necessary.”
In a release dated Tuesday 24th May, the sector minister reiterated that both the Achimota Forest and the Ramsar site are “integral part for the protection of our forest cover,” and thus, the government will protect the lands as it continues to hold them in trust for the Ghanaian people.
