The Bole Magistrate Court in the Savannah region has remanded into police custody, one of the suspects Latifah Bumaye who allegedly lynched Akua Denteh in Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality.
Suspect Latifah,30, appeared for her first court hearing today August 3 after she was apprehended on Friday July 31 at her hideout at Kejewu Bator in the Abrumase division of the East Gonja Municipality after been ont he run for seven days.
His Worship Andrew Prince Cudjoe granted a plea after the prosecutor requested for the suspect to be remanded to assist the police with further investigations.
The case was adjourned to August 20, after the magistrate urged the to suspect to assist the police with information on the whereabout of the remaining suspects “if such information is at her disposal”.
Latifah Bumaye, a grand daughter of the Akua Denteh, deceased is captured in a viral video captured on Wednesday July 22 whipping the victim who died the next day on Thursday July 23 at the Salaga Government Hospital.
The act which captured some other women attacking the deceased under the alleged supervision a self-styled soothsayer Filina after she branded her a witch gained nationwide attention and condemnation.
