The Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency in the Savannah Region of Ghana Lawyer Samuel Abdulai Jinapor on 4th February commissioned a newly constructed market in “Canteen”,  suburb of the West Gonja municipality of his Constituency.

The private funded project will boost economic activities mostly by women in his Constituency. The market has well demarcated sheds for each trader.

“The construction of a community library, a modern astro turf, and roads in the Canteen electoral will also commence in the coming months,” the MP hinted.

Among other projects currently ongoing in the constituency which falls in the newly created Savannah Region are electrification project at Kotito No 1, 2, 3, an ultra modern 300 hundred seater capacity community center with offices, and the construction of the Buipe-Kotito-Damongo road.

These were promises the lawmaker made to constituents ahead of the 2020 Presidential and Parliament Elections.

On water supply, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources revealed the Damongo water project has delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic but said all is “set now for the project to kick start.”

In August 2021, some 3,000 women benefited from a cash support from the MP to inject into their businesses. The cash was disbursed to both new and existing businesses in the Damongo Constituency as part fulfilling a campaign promise.
