The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Cynthia Mamle Morrison has arrived in Kafaba, in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region.
Madam Cynthia is paying a working visit to the community as part of government’s commitment towards ensuring justice is served the deceased.
She has met with the family of Akua Denteh, 90, who died on Thursday July 23 in Kafaba after been attacked by some people in the community over witchcraft accusations, an attack that was fronted by a self-styled soothsayer who has been identified as Filina, a resident of Yeji in the Bono East region.
The sector minister made a stop at the family home of the family in Salaga where she interacted with the family before heading to the Kafaba.
Some twenty three women were also subjected to torture by Filina across the Central district and East Gonja Municipality.
