Alhassan Imrani was arrested in Tamale on Saturday September 5, at about 10:00pm at Banvim, a suburb of Tamale.Â
Alhassan Imrani, 38, is being held at the Tamale Divisional Police Headquarters in the Northern region for the unlawful possession of fire arms and live ammunitions.
A police report released by the division on Saturday September 5, indicated Alhassan Imrani, a suspect in a robbery case that occured in Tema in the Greater Accra region was arrested at his home in Banvim, a suburb of Tamale upon a tip-off.
“On 5 September 2020, at 1000hrs, DSP/Mr. Mick Omari Boakye, Tamale Divisional Crime Officer i/c D/Const. Vincent Nketiah assisted by Tamale Patrol team, upon a tip-off on same day around 1150hrs arrested and brought to the Divisional Headquarters, Tamale, suspect; Alhassan Imrani age 38, with a report that the aforementioned suspect was involved in a case of robbery reported at Tema Regional CID”
The police during a search in his Banvim residence in Tamale retrieved 3 pistols, 4 mobile phones, 1 black HP laptop, 1 AK47 assault rifle bat, 1 G3 empty magazine, 6 registered vehicle number plates, 1 plier.
98- auto45 live ammunitions, 165 auto389 live ammunitions, 4 pistol empty cartridges, and 1 white Toyota Highlander with registration number GW 3241-20 were also retrieved, the report further stated.
Further intelligence led the officers to a spraying shop where an ash colour Toyota Highlander with it front and rear bumpers removed suspected to have been snatched at gun point during a robbery in Tema, were recovered.
The vehicle has been kept for evidential purpose. The suspect has also been detained to assist in investigations.
