Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah scored his debut goal of the season against the Turkish side Sivasspor at Sivas 4 Eylül Stadium.
His goal was enough to deliver the maximum 3 Points to his side and give them hope of escaping relegation in the 2019/2020 Turkish Super League.
He was on target in the 68th minute after substitute Remi Walter provided a beautiful assist in the 31st fixture of the season.
His Ghanaian counterpart Isaac Coffie played for the home side Sivasspor but was substituted in the 83rd minute. Coffie was excellent but couldn’t help his team to deny Afriyie”s Malatyaspor from wining.
It was an entertaining game though fans were not allowed in the stands due to Covid-19 19 restrictions.
Malatyaspor has now moved to 13th position with 32 points and 3 points clear of relegation whiles Sivasspor remains at 3rd place with 54 points, 2 points above 4th place Galatasaray.
Malatyaspor got a deserving revenge after loosing 3:1 in the first league in December 2019 before leagues were halted.
